Mrs. Gabrielle Buckley
Gabrielle "Gabbi" Buckley was born in the coastal small town of Encinitas, California and spent the first two years of her life believing she was a mermaid. Her parents moved her to Chandler in a house off a dirt road named Elliot where she attended Mesa Public Schools from kindergarten until her senior year of high school and graduated from Dobson in 1995.
Upon graduation, she craved the smell of sea salt and the feeling of sand between her toes. Back to San Diego she went and stayed for five years. She lived the dream of being able to walk to the beach in five minutes or less and forgot what air conditioning was. Yet, school was not a priority with such great weather, so back to Arizona she went with the intentions of finishing her degree.
Gabbi moved back to Arizona in 2001 and finished her degree at Grand Canyon University. Upon graduation, she acquired an English position at Chandler High School and came back to Mesa in 2007. She graduated with her M.Ed. from Northern Arizona University that same year. Additionally, she graduated with a M.Ed. in 2013 from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis in Educational Leadership.
Gabbi is married to a brilliant social studies teacher (who is a familiar face around the Red Mountain campus) and is a step-mom to a wonderful 16 year old named Grace (class of 2019), as well as mom to Renner, the vivacious and energetic first-grader (class of 2029) that keeps her very busy.
Gabbi enjoyed a long run as a teacher and department chair for English at Dobson. In 2015, she was able to work as a Team Leader, working closely with administration and teachers, and assisting Tyler Dumas with his incoming class of freshmen. The following year she was offered the opportunity to be a full-time assistant principal and got her own class of freshmen - the class of 2020! Her heart belongs to Dobson and she will forever bleed blue.
