Julie Neff was born and raised in Arizona. Being a product of Mesa Public Schools, and Gilbert Public Schools, Julie is dedicated to the education and success of Arizona’s children. Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Arizona State University in 2007. Upon graduation, Julie began substitute teaching for Mesa while she pursued a career in music. After years of playing the drums in several bands, touring the country and working numerous jobs to support her music, Julie came full circle and decided to go back to her first passion; education. She graduated from the Mary Lou Fulton Teacher’s College at ASU with a Master’s of Education in Secondary Education in the Fall of 2015.
Julie still plays the drums in a local, all girl rock and roll band. She is an avid vinyl collector, loves animals, and also teaches private drum lessons. She lives with her husband Steve, who is a Tempe Police Officer and United States Army veteran, her dog Moonshine, and bird Stanley.
