The 2020-2021 school year will be my third year as a teacher, and I could not be more excited about it. My path to the classroom was an amazing journey. After working in the commercial/industrial HVAC industry for over 10 years, I realized that while I was filling my bank account with lots of money, I was not fulfilling my need to do something that makes a real difference in the world. After some serious thinking and soul searching, I made the difficult decision to leave the industry in 2011 and enroll in college.
Since that time, I earned my Associates degree in psychology from Mesa Community College, a Bachelors degree in biochemistry from Arizona State University, and I also finished my Masters degree in education as a Sun Devil in the Spring of 2018. During that time, I also married an amazing woman who is also a teacher, and we have 3 beautiful children: Peyton Marie, Jovi Lynn, and Wyatt Danger. Yes, Danger IS his middle name.
During the time I spent in my Masters degree program, I had the privilege of student teaching at Poston Middle School and Westwood High School. I knew from the moment I first stepped into the classroom that I had chosen the right career for myself. The time I have spent working with students has been the most fulfilling experience of my professional career, and there is never a dull moment. I know the circumstances of this year will come with a few bumps and bruises for all of us, but I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with the students, families, and staff at Dobson High School. Let's make this a year to remember! Go Mustangs!
