Hi Mustangs! My name is Ms. June and I'm thrilled to be joining the Mustang family for the 20-21 school year! I was born and raised in the west valley, where I spent almost all of my youth enthralled in some sort of physical activity (mainly gymnastics and swimming). I've always felt a connection to the forest, so naturally I became a lumberjack and graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2012 with a BS in Physical Education and 2 minors: health and biology.
After a year of teaching, I was given an opportunity to career shift with the American Heart/Stroke Association. I spent 5.5 years raising funds for heart disease and stroke, followed by 2 years in the most magical place, Durango, CO. Although my heart will always be in the mountains, my family, it seems, will always be here in the valley. So here I am! I like to spend time doing yoga, hiking, biking, running, skiing, snowboarding, boating, camping... anything outdoorsy.
I've built my life around health and wellness, and I hope to inspire my students to find balance in their lives. I want to teach them positive ways to deal with life, because let's face it- life can be hard! Lifelong movers, balanced eaters and open, educated minds help make the hard times a little less challenging.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or comments. My "door" is open.
