Rob LubbRob Lubbersers is the Department Chair, Director of Orchestras and AP Music Theory instructor at Dobson. Prior to this, he was the Director of Bands, making this his 19th year at Dobson High. His teaching responsibilities include three string orchestras, AP Music Theory, Pops Orchestra (fall), and the Dobson Symphony Orchestra (spring). Prior to his position at Dobson, Rob was Director of Bands in Gretna, Nebraska. Rob is a frequent adjudicator with the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association, served as the AMEA Vice President of High School Activities,  and has conducted All-Region Bands and All-Region Orchestras throughout the state. He has spent 11 summers as an AP Reader, Table Leader, and Question Leader with the Music Theory Exam.

Mr. Lubbers' bands and orchestras have consistently received superior ratings; listeners and adjudicators alike most often make comments on the musicality of the ensembles. His student's passing rate for the AP Music Theory Exam is 98%. He received his Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (1998) and his Masters of Music Education at Arizona State University (2009).

His affiliations include AMEA, ABODA, Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honorary, Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity, and NAfME. He has performed in every corner of the United States as well as Europe, and has played trumpet with the Nebraska Wind Symphony, Agape Brass Quintet and Tempe Wind Ensemble. He has conducted the Dobson Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall (2005), and the Wind Symphony (2004, 2007, 2013) and Symphony Orchestra (2007) at the Music for All National Concert Festival. Currently, he is sitting in the solo cornet section with the Salt River Brass.
