Mrs. Rebecca Martin, B.A.Ed, M.A.Ed
Raised in the mountains of northeastern Arizona, I spent most of my childhood running wild through pine trees, catching crawdads in creeks and searching for arrowheads on hillsides. Upon graduation from high school, I traveled to Northern Arizona University where I flourished in white winters until my fiancé convinced me to move to his home town of Mesa, Arizona. I transferred to Arizona State University, married said fiancé, and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Secondary Education, English. My first few years of teaching were spent in Mesa School District at Skyline High School where I managed to earn a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, meet some of the finest colleagues in the business, and birth two of my three children. After Skyline, I worked at Poston Butte High School and Queen Creek High School until 2015, when a fellow teacher convinced me to come work at what appears to be one of the finest schools in the state. I enjoy parallel structure, writing creative nonfiction, taking road trips, and eating unhealthy, chemically processed food. I live with my husband, three sons, ages 9, 6 and 3, a cat named Cairo and a fish named Rocky in Queen Creek.
