GO MUSTANGS! I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!
My name is Tiffany Bunstein - I am a native of Mesa and love living in the Dobson Ranch with my partner, Fred, and my dog, Daisy. My family was the first family to ever move into the Dobson Ranch back in 1973! I came to Dobson as a 9th grader back in the mid 80's but then transferred to Mt. View to graduate because my family moved. (Believe me when I say that my heart never left ‘The Land of the Mustangs'!) Fortunately, it didn't take too long to find my home again here at Dobson, but this time as a teacher.
After attending Mesa Community College, I transferred to ASU where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education. I just completed my 25th year as a special educator in Mesa. While in college, I became a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and I am currently an active member of the National Education Association (NEA).
Throughout my career, I have taught at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels, working with a myriad of students with varying degrees of learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism. Working with students who have special needs has become my life's greatest passion, especially at the high school level where I am able to see students transition into a real-world environment where they can become employed or live independently.
My educational philosophy is centered around students gaining the independence and confidence necessary to become a self-advocate, as well as developing their character, communication, and interpersonal/social skills. This has empowered students to participate and excel in visual and performing arts, P.E, culinary arts, and student council.
