Important Wednesday Information for Families:

Program Hours for K-8 students: 8:30 - 3:25

  • K-2 students remain with a homeroom teacher and have specials like PE, Music, Computers, and Library

  • 3rd-8th grade students rotate every 55 minutes to Computers, Composition, Math, Science, Art, Music, and PE, with the option of Orchestra

Due to the required number of instructional minutes that 7th and 8th graders are required to have in the state of Arizona, Eagleridge has always required 7th and 8th graders to complete more hours on another day of the program.  Wednesdays alone do not meet the minutes necessary for Eagleridge to receive 25% of the funding a 5-day program student would.  Therefore, students came additional time so we were able to keep the program funded.

Starting in the 2017-2018 school year, Eagleridge is offering an opportunity for 7th and 8th graders who attend on Wednesday, to complete the required additional 7 hours in a different way.  The Student Council Connection has been established as a way for the 7th and 8th graders to provide service to Eagleridge and the community through specifically scheduled events that meet the required hours necessary for the program to receive 25% funding.

Student Council Connection will be offered during the following events:

  • Meet the Teacher in August (the 3 days prior to school starting for 2 hours each day)

  • Eagleridge Day of Service for 7 hours the day before school starts (generally a Tuesday)

  • Quarterly Eagleridge Service (Once a quarter, a 4 hour service learning session will be offered on a Tuesday.)

  • Field Trip options that are to be determined

These options will be available to sign up for in May so families and homeschooling groups can coordinate.  A Google form will be shared to be completed by the end of May for each 7th and 8th grader.  Then, Eagleridge will input the names into the registration system so it can be tracked for attendance and funding purposes.

Students who come on Wednesday are still welcome to sign up for classes on Monday or Tuesday/Thursday, but need to complete the required hours for that day of attendance as well.  If a 7th or 8th grader is signed up for multiple days (T/W/TH or M/W), the additional Student Council Connection hours are not required.
