Eagleridge Procedures for

Student Drop-off & Pick-up

The following directions are intended to help maintain safe drop-off and pick-up areas while still being efficient.  It is important we all follow the directions and patterns consistently due to the large number of students and vehicles.  It is also necessary to remember that we share the campus and therefore some procedures are established for both programs to ensure the parking lot and other shared space works for everyone.

MORNINGS

Students should be on campus 10 minutes before school starts on days of attendance.  Staff members are on duty at this time to ensure supervision.  Students are not allowed on the playground before this point.  All students will wait on the playground by the north parking lot to be picked up by the teachers.  Parents are always welcome at the playground drop-off area.  If you choose to stay after the start bell, you must check in with the office and get a visitor's badge.  Tardy students are also required to check in and get a pass upon arrival.

“Park and Walk” Directions - means you park and WALK to the playground to drop-off your child.

  • Park in the north parking lot.

  • Students may exit a parked car in a parking spot and walk to the playground themselves OR walk them to the playground.

  • DO NOT drop students off in driving lanes of the parking lot.

  • Enter the playground via the gate connecting the office and the playground.

Students can also be dropped off without being escorted to the playground by using the driver drop-off area on Medina Avenue.  Eagleridge will NOT be using the drive thru lane in front of the school (the one off of Patterson).

"Driver drop-off" Directions - means you stay in your car and drop-off your child in the loading zone on Medina.

  • All vehicle traffic will enter loading zone from the west and leave heading east.

  • Students must exit car on passenger side.

  • Students will enter campus using the open playground gate (by D6) on Medina.

  • DO NOT drop students off on north curb and allow them to walk across Medina.

  • DO NOT drop students off in driving lanes of the parking lot.

AFTERNOONS

At dismissal time, students will be escorted to the two designated pick-up areas: the playground for “walker” pick-up and the north drive thru lane on Medina Avenue for “driver” pick-up.  You will choose which method you prefer through an online survey, the teachers will be informed, and students (K-8) will be escorted to the requested location.  In both pick-up areas, students will be grouped by family to make the process run smoothly.  You will be provided a nameplate for your windshield.  If you carpool, you may have as many plates as needed.

“Park and Walk” Directions - means you park and WALK to the playground to pick-up your child.

  • Students will be escorted to the playground area.

  • They will wait in family groups based on the youngest child’s grade.

  • Children will only be released to a preapproved adult.

"Driver Drop-off" Directions - means you stay in your car and pick-up your child in the loading zone on Medina.

  • Students will exit campus through 2 gates on Medina (by T2 and D6).

  • Students will wait along the interior fence line in alphabetical ordered “family” groups.

  • Place family name card in front window on passenger side.

  • Children will be released to the first 4 cars in line at a time.

  • Front cars with lengthy wait times for children will be asked to pull forward and your child will be escorted by staff to the vehicle.

  • Students will NOT be permitted to walk across Medina to enter a vehicle on the north curb.

Driveway and Parking Lot Dos

Driveway and Parking Lot Don’ts

Make right hand turns into the parking lot.

Don’t make left hand turns into the parking lot.

Pull forward into a parking space or the drive-thru lane.

Don’t block the driveway.  Wait on Patterson if you can not get directly to the parking spaces.

If using the parking lot, you must park in a space.

Don’t stop in the driving lanes of the parking lot.

Reserved spots need to be left open at all times.

Don’t stop over crosswalks or used reserved spots as loading zones.

If you park on the west side of the lot, children may walk themselves to the playground.

If you have to park on the east side of the lot, children must be escorted across the parking lot.

Don’t let children out of the car in the driving lanes of the parking lot.

Don’t let children walk across the parking lot unattended.

If doing walker pick-up, you must get out of your car and walk to the playground area to get your child(ren).

Don’t call for your children from a parking space or the lanes in the parking lot.  They will not be allowed to walk out on their own.

If using the drive-thru lane on Medina, we will fill 4 cars at a time.  Pull forward as each car leaves.  Enter from the west, exit to the east.

Don’t call for or expect your children to walk across Medina Avenue at any time.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we implement these new procedures.  As always, our goal is to make sure all students are safe.
