Free Montessori programs are available beginning in kindergarten at three convenient district locations. The district's curriculum is presented using strategies prescribed by the Association Montessori International and the American Montessori Society.

Your child can explore the district curriculum through the arts in this hands-on child-centered program. The free kindergarten through sixth-grade program integrates creative, visual, dramatic and musical arts into daily lessons.

This free curriculum is available for parents who choose to work with their child at home. Take advantage of enrichment programs. Meet with other families to socialize during the school day or take field trips.

Kids Corner offers a safe and fun place for children before and after the regular school day. This program is sponsored by the district's Community Education Department. The fee-based program is available at some schools and is certified by the Department of Economic Security.

The Mesa Early Learning Preschool builds on a child's natural curiosity. Learning happens through interaction, exploration and discovery. The program is free to families who meet income guidelines. Children must be 4 years old before Sept. 1. |

Children who are 3-5 years old attend preschool while parents take classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages or General Education Development (GED). The program is free to families who meet income guidelines.

Children acquire developmental and academic skills by exploring science and the arts. This tuition-based preschool is available for two, three or four days at selected elementary schools.

Children identified with special needs may receive free preschool classes through the district. A screening and evaluation are available for children as young as 2 1/2 years to check speech, hearing, vision and development.
