Edison Eagles,
My name is Alex Macdonald and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as the Principal at Edison Elementary. We are the home of the Edison Eagles. We have a great school and a very supportive staff that sets high expectations for the ABC's of academics, behavior and citizenship.
I grew up in Mesa and attended Edison as my elementary school. It feels go to be home. I had great experiences in Mesa with supportive teachers and a strong level of parent support. I am happy to see that after all these years, Edison still has this kind of community that supports the school and the students.
My first 3 years as a Principal were at Crismon Elementary in west Mesa. Last year was my first year at Edison. It was fun, but busy. Prior to that, I worked as an assistant administrator at Holmes and Lincoln elementary schools. During my time in the classroom, I taught grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. While each job has its challenges and benefits, I really enjoy being a Principal.
My wife and I have 4 boys. They are a lot of fun and keep us busy. They enjoy playing baseball and going swimming. We enjoy playing softball and going to ASU baseball games. My dream is to visit every MLB park one summer and watch baseball in each one. I am a big D-Backs fan and ASU sports fan.
If you see me on campus, introduce yourself. It will take me little while to learn your name and face, but I hope to learn about you and your family as well this year.
