Classroom Information

Welcome!  My name is Carolyn Whitesides.  I am a Specific Learning Disabilities teacher.  I have been teaching in Mesa for 19 years.  I am best reached by calling either before or after school.  Should you call during the school day, please leave a message on my voicemail and I will return your call as soon as possible.

The goals set each year are individual for each student.  The ultimate goal is for the students to participate in the regular classroom on a full-time basis.  Many of the SLD students need special assistance in the various academic areas.  Together we will work to improve their academic ability, confidence, and responsibility.

Progress reports are sent home on a weekly basis.   I feel that this will give you a more complete and ongoing picture of your child's behavior and progress throughout the school year.  It would be appreciated if you would sign the progress report and send it back with your child the following week.
