Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!
I was born in Ohio and grew up in Colorado. In 2013, my family and I moved to Mesa. I have a daughter that attends Skyline High School and a son that attends the ACES. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education and my Master of Arts in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Grand Canyon University. I chose to get a Masters degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders because both my children are on the spectrum at various levels and I want to be a resource for students, parents, and families.
In 2014-2015 school year, I worked as an Instructional Assistant in the reading lab at Lincoln Elementary here in the Mesa district. In the 2015-2016 school year, I performed my student teacher obligations at Taft Elementary. I then worked as a substitute teacher for Mesa until the end of the school year. These assignments included Sousa Elementary, SHARP, Lincoln Elementary, and a long-term assignment at Emerson Elementary. In 2016-2017 I taught 3rd and 5th grade SLD here at Edison Elementary.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year in the awesome Edison Elementary community.
