I started as an Educational Technology Trainer for Mesa Public Schools in 2016. Before moving into this Ed Tech trainer position, I taught secondary math for five years. I started my career in Education in Chicago, where I taught Algebra and Algebra II. After a year there, I moved to Colorado to teach middle school math in the mountains. Here I was able to get acclimated with a lot of great educational technology. I had the opportunity to teach in a one-to-one environment, using Big Ideas Math as my primary teaching tool.
I graduated with my degree in Math Education from Northern Illinois University in 2011. After teaching for a year, I decided to return to school to begin working towards my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics. I graduated from Concordia University: Portland with this degree in 2014.
In my last year of teaching, I became really focused on Google Apps for Education. I became a Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Educator, and then went on to become a Google Certified Trainer. I continually learn new Google tools that can be used to enrich instruction and deepen learning. I'm excited to continue expanding my knowledge of new technologies and support teachers as they enrich their classrooms with these tools.
