Valley Metro Bus Experience!
We had a wonderful time exploring the city bus! Helen and Bus Driver Kaise were so awesome! We explored the bus, sang songs, sat in the bus driver’s seat and learned some new terms and vocabulary such as, a kneeling bus. According to Dictionary.com, kneeling bus is defined as, “ a bus that can lower its body or entrance door to facilitate boarding” The children watched in awe as they witnessed this in action. Then we were all able to board the bus safely because the steps were level with the curb.
We are also learning about the term “Community workers”. The children are beginning to understand that many individuals work many different jobs to help keep are community safe, healthy, and to help meet our needs. Some examples might be police officers, sanitation workers, bus drivers, doctors, mechanics etc.
