My name is Loni Unga and I teach K-6 physical education at Eisenhower Center for Innovation. I have been teaching elementary and secondary PE since 2013, but this is my first year at Eisenhower. I attended college at Arizona State University where I earned a masters degree in physical education. Eisenhower has earned the bronze award for the Alliance for a Healthy Generation program for the past 3 years and plans on repeating again this year.
Eisenhower uses Playworks which is a program designed to build and implement structured recess time to help your child build valuable physical and social skills in a safe playing environment. Playworks encourages students to spend their recess time playing various games and sports that support all ability levels. We also partner with various groups such as NFL Fuel Up To Play 60 and The First Tee which provide many opportunities for our PE department to serve our students.
While I am not teaching, I spend my time with my wife who is a 1st grade teacher in the Kyrene School District and our 3 young children. I enjoy staying active and playing golf in my free time.
