ENDORSEMENT FAST FACTS

Provisional SEI Endorsement: All persons certified before August 31, 2006, holding a valid AZ Elementary,  Secondary, Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Career and Technical, and Special Education Certificate must complete the 15 clock hours or one semester hour of approved SEI Provisional training and have this endorsement added to their certificate to meet the requirements for the Provisional SEI Endorsement. (Mandated R7-2-613 J.2.c.)

All persons certified after August 31, 2006, holding a valid AZ Elementary, Secondary, Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Career and Technical, and Special Education Certificate on and after August 31, 2006, must complete 45 clock hours or three semester hours of approved SEI Provisional training and have this endorsement added to their cerfiicate to meet the requirements for the Provisional SEI Endorsement. (Mandated R7-2-613 J.1.)

Full SEI Endorsement: Within three years of obtaining the Provisional SEI Endorsement, all persons holding a valid Arizona Elementary, Secondary, Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Career and Technical Education, and Special Education Certficate must complete an additional 45 clock hours or 3 semester hours of approved SEI training to apply for their Full SEI Endorsement. (Mandated R7-2-613 J.1.)

ESL STIPEND

Teachers who have completed coursework for the full ESL or Bilingual endorsement will earn a one-time stipend of $1,200 if:
1. all coursework is completed prior to September 1 and
2. the full endorsement (not provisional) is printed on the Arizona Department of
    Education teaching certificate prio
r to December 1.
