AAHPERD-  The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) is the largest organization of professionals supporting and assisting professionals involved in physical education, recreation, fitness, sport and coaching, dance, health education and promotion, and all specialties related to achieving a healthy and active lifestyle.
American Heart Association

American Heart Association - Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all we do. The need for our work is beyond question. Information is available for the following programs: Jump Rope for Heart, Hula Hoop for Heart, NFL PLAY 60 Challenge, and Healthy Schools Program. American Heart Association also has resources for the classroom, gym, schools, caregivers, etc.


Arizona State University- The Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College offers challenging education programs that prepare highly qualified and successful teachers, leaders, and researchers.

AzAHPERD- The Arizona Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AzAHPERD) is an educational organization that achieves its mission by supporting, encouraging, and providing assistance to members statewide as they initiate, develop, conduct and promote programs of health, physical education, recreation, dance and other movement-related programs.


Brunswick Zone Bowling   

Brunswick Zone - Brunswick Bowling provides bowling equipment for the elementary schools so that all MPS elementary students have the opportunity to experience bowling.

Families in Training

Families In Training - F.I.T., Families In Training, is a program that engages parents to develop smart eating choices and promotes being active together.  These lessons offer an opportunity for families to set healthy lifestyle goals together.  Download Families In Training class descriptions (pdf). 

First Tee

First Tee - The First Tee is a World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship.

Our goal is to provide the golf learning facilities and the experience that will enable kids from every walk of life to partake of a game that teaches values for life and which can be played for a lifetime.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart- Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) is a national fundraising program sponsored jointly by AAHPERD and AHA.  JRFH is a valuable program that promotes physical activity, heart healthy living, and community service to children.  JRFH is targeted at students in elementary schools, but anyone can hold a program at their school, child care center, community center, or anywhere!

 Kids Rock

Kids Rock Stars - Kids Rock Stars is a walking/running program in elementary schools.  Children track their activities throughout the year and are sometimes joined by parent walking groups on the campus. 

National Association for Sport and Physical Education

NASPE - The National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) is the non-profit professional membership association that sets the standard for best practices in quality physical education and sport.

 Families in Training

Phoenix Children's Hospital - Phoenix Children's Hospital has provided hope, healing, and the best healthcare for children and families since it was born in 1983. Today, Phoenix Children's is one of the ten largest children's hospitals in the country and provides specialty and sub-specialty inpatient, outpatient, trauma, and emergency care to patients throughout Arizona and other Southwestern states.

SHADE Foundation of America

SHADE® Foundation of America  - is a 501(c)3 non-profit orga­ni­za­tion. Our mission is to erad­i­cate melanoma through the edu­ca­tion of chil­dren and the com­mu­nity in the pre­ven­tion and detec­tion of skin can­cer and the pro­mo­tion of sun safety.

We want to pro­vide you with a resource to find great pro­grams to edu­cate chil­dren about sun safety and an oppor­tu­nity for you to join us in mak­ing the world skin can­cer free.

US Tennis Association

United States Tennis Association (USTA) - The USTA’s mission is To Promote and Develop the Growth of Tennis.

 Walk On Walk On! - Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Challenges 5th graders in the month of February to exercise at least 60 minutes a day.

Students who exercised 1,680 minutes or more during the month of February were eligible to win one of five Wii® Fit games or one of 40 iPod® shuffles in a drawing. The winning students received their prizes in April. All students who participated in the Challenge received a popular drawstring backpack and reward certificate for their efforts to be healthy.
