Teacher Training to Teach                       Gifted and Talented Students 

MPS is committed to build capacity within our Gifted and Talented teaching teams by providing opportunities for specialized training. Teachers who wish to teach coursework to Gifted and Talented students are obliged to participate in multiple arenas that increase their effectiveness to serve the needs of Gifted and Talented students.

Teachers of Gifted and Talented students are expected to:

• attend & implement additional on-going district trainings
• interact with additional PLC teams on their campus
• carry an endorsement within 3 years of accepting a G/T assignment

Human Resources/Administrators will be given a Professional Development Audit tool for support in selecting and monitoring highly qualified candidates for our Gifted and Talented teaching positions.
