It is with great excitement that I join the Roosevelt team as Principal. I am honored to be a part of this amazing Rough Rider community. I decided to make the transition into school leadership in order to make a positive impact on our schools and help students maximize their potential.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education with an emphasis in Science from Arizona State University in 1999. I then started my career in Phoenix teaching 6-8 graders with varying disabilities in a self-contained classroom for three years. For the next eleven years, I continued to teach various cross categorical K-5 classes. During this time, I earned my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, along with my Reading Endorsement. I moved to Mesa District in 2013 to support teachers working with students with special needs, as a district Content Specialist. While working at various schools within MPS and observing the dynamic teaching and learning, I was inspired to lead. I then earned another Master's in Educational Leadership. I then became Dean of Students at Emerson and Webster Schools.
I truly believe that the partnership between the school and family to encourage and support our students will set them up for lifelong success. I look forward to meeting all of you. Please contact me if I can support you or your student in any way.
