Classroom Experience:

I have had the honor of teaching close to 300 First Grade students over the past 11 years.  I started my “adventure” at Lowell Elementary where I taught in an ESL classroom.  After 3 years I moved to Emerson and have taught both in the ESL and traditional classrooms.  I get so much joy when working with First Graders and feel so lucky to witness their academic and social growth.

Roots:

An Arizona native, I have lived in Mesa all my life.  I am proud to be a Jackrabbit (Mesa High), Sun Devil (ASU), Warrior (Westwood High--my 2 sons converted me), Lumberjack (NAU), Roadrunner (Lowell), and now an Emerson EAGLE!

College Experience:

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University—Fear the Fork!  I earned my Master’s Degree in Multi-Culture Education from Northern Arizona University.  I have endorsements in both English as a Second Language (ESL) and in Early Childhood Education.
