This is my third year of teaching in Mesa and at Emerson Elementary. I was born and raised in El Paso, TX. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Early Education and graduated with honors. After my first year of teaching Kindergarten, my family accepted a very unique offer. We moved to Africa because of my husband’s work. It was difficult at times but overall it was an amazing experience. Throughout the two years we lived there, I volunteered at an international school for expatriate children. I taught another three years of Kindergarten in El Paso before moving to Phoenix. We moved to Mesa about three years ago and I think it is a great place to live!
I have one beautiful, smart, and caring teenage daughter. She has proven to be a positive person who has faces new situations and challenges head on. She is currently attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. My family loves to read, watch sports, and travel.
My goal is to work together as a community to help your child be successful in Kindergarten and be prepared for First grade. Please assist me in creating an environment conducive to learning by talking to your child about rules and expectations. I plan to engage my students so that they have fun while learning. I hope that my students find the love of learning that will help them be successful in life.
