Biography

This is my ninth year at Emerson Elementary teaching.  I've taught Kinder/1st, 1st/2nd grade combination class, and just 1st grade in the past.  The 2019-2020 school year will be my first year teaching 2nd grade.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State in Multilingual Multicultural Education.  I obtained my Early Childhood Endorsement a few years ago. In 2015, I graduated from Concordia University with my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction in English Speakers of Other Languages.

I have had the privilege of taking AVID courses to pursue my knowledge in how to best teach students.  In addition, I have had training in Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) and KOI instruction to help teach students that have had trauma in their lives.

I was born and raised in Arizona and consider Arizona my home.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, taking pictures (I love to visit Arizona and take pictures), spending time with family and friends.
