I can't believe this is my eighth year at Emerson! What a privilege it is to be your child's kindergarten teacher for a year. This year, your child will learn to count to 100, read, write, and most of all, think and question. Mesa Public Schools is graciously offering resources for parents such as the Parent Center located in room 48 at Emerson. Feel free to bring your child’s young siblings to learn English, communicate with other parents, and gain knowledge to support your child throughout their academic years.  I can't wait for these kindergartners to graduate from college -- some of my earlier ones already have!

I am very fortunate to see you every day at dismissal. You are more than welcome to visit our class and volunteer whenever you have an opportunity. Please, just remember to sign in at the office first! If I can ever assist you in any way with food, clothing, or supplies, please let me know. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

I have been married for 28 years. Our oldest son graduated from Stanford University with a Masters, and is pursuing his PhD at the University of Arizona. Our youngest son recently completed his MBA at Texas A&M University and married a beautiful Texan named Sydney. Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts. Our third child (a daughter) is currently at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Our dog, Coconut (a Bichon Frise) rounds out the family, and is very high maintenance. Both my husband and I are Native Californians, but my husband's company relocated us to Arizona in 2005.

I have a Master's Degree in Early Literacy from Walden University; I completed my Multi-Subject Teaching Credential at Cal-Poly Pomona University; and I received my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

I currently hold Arizona teaching credentials. I have the English as a Second Language K-12 Endorsement and Early Childhood Education Endorsement. I have a Provisional Gifted Endorsement too. I continue to take many professional development courses through Mesa Public Schools and the surrounding community to enhance my classroom experience.
