Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year. Let me start by telling you a little about myself. I am a Native Arizonian. I attended Edison Elementary, Kino Jr. High and graduated from Westwood High School in 1988. In 1992, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from NAU in 2000 and just recently completed my MA + 60 by attending classes through Grand Canyon University. I have been teaching in Mesa Public Schools since 1993 and have been at Entz Elementary since January of 1994.
I'm sure we share high expectations in regard to your child's learning experience here at Entz. It is my goal as one of your child's teachers to provide him or her with the best education possible in a safe learning environment. I recognize that all my students have different needs, ability levels, learning styles and interests. Another goal of mine is to meet these differing needs in a way that facilitates learning and personal growth in your child.
If you have any questions of concerns about your child during the year please feel free to contact me. Although the regular classroom teacher and I communicate frequently about your child's progress, we may not always be aware of difficulties, frustrations, or concerns your child may be experiencing. As the parent, you are our best informational source outside the classroom. By working together we can show your child that education and learning are positive steps toward personal growth and independence.
I'm looking forward to working with you and your child this year.
