Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!
Dear First Grader,
Welcome to our class! My name is Miss Odegaard and I am looking forward to sharing your first grade year with you. I can’t wait to meet you! We will have an exciting year making friends, exploring, and learning new things together.
This will be my fourth year at Entz and I absolutely love it here. I moved to Arizona in 2006 from the beautiful state of Washington. I enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with my family, friends, two dogs, and rabbit, Buster. I look forward to finding out about your interests and what things are important to you.
School starts on Wednesday, August 12th. School will begin at 8:25 a.m. I will be waiting outside for you before the first bell rings and we will walk to our classroom together. Be prepared to learn a lot and have fun!
I have lots of supplies for my students to use this year. We will be using pencils, crayons, paint, glue, scissors, construction paper and writing paper. If you would like to bring additional supplies from home, I suggest the following: 
- Extra #2 pencils
- Dry Erase Markers
- Glue Stick
- Plastic pair of scissors
- Large box of Kleenex for the class to share
- Snacks to share with the class (Pretzels, Ritz, and Goldfish Crackers are always great snacks)
Please know that these are optional and you do not have to bring them to school. Make sure to write your name and C-1 on your backpack and lunchbox so we can get them back to you if they get lost at school.
Our “Meet the Teacher” Open House will be held on Monday, August 10th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. I hope that you and your parents will be able to visit me in room C-1. If your parents would like to talk to me before this time, they can contact me at 472-7331. Enjoy the rest of your summer! I can’t wait to start a fun new year with you.
