Biography
Hello, my name is Mr. Schuller and this is my 7th year in the Mesa Public Schools. My teaching experience also includes the Omaha Public Schools and Gilbert Public Schools. I graduated from the University of Nebraska (Go Huskers!!) with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. Currently, I am working on my Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!!)
My hobbies outside of school include my DJ business, riding mountain bikes, traveling, and working on my cars. Oh and yes my favorite football teams are the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Pittsburgh Steelers!!
I was born and raised in Nebraska, where both of my parents are exemplary educators. My teaching philosophy is basically what's best for kids. The Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships framework for all students is the backbone to my educational beliefs and everything I do in the classroom.
Rigor: My expectation is a learning environment which stretches the individual learner to move beyond his/her current comfort zone, and grow as an independent learner.
Relevance: To the greatest extent possible I believe my lessons must be relevant to the experiences of the 21st-century citizen. In addition, engagement of my students is of vital importance when examining both content and approach to learning.
Relationships: It's my core belief that students must be known as individuals, treated with respect and fairness at all times, and celebrated when expectations are met. The defining characteristic, for both myself and my students, is a classroom that values relationships as a prevalent sense of civility and respect.
Yes it really is all about the students in my classroom!!
