About Me

This is my 29th year teaching.  My first 14 years teaching was for Albuquerque Public Schools in New Mexico, until my move to Arizona in 2003.  This year will be my 15th year teaching for Mesa Public Schools.  During my years of teaching, I can say I have been fortunate to have taught all grades, kindergarten through sixth.  I am blessed to be working at Entz, and I love teaching grade three.  My goal is to have students excited and want to come to school, and for each student to excel and achieve to his or her full potential academically and socially.  With much dedication and hard work from myself, the students and of course parents, we can look forward to amazing growth throughout the school year.

I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico.  I hold an endorsement in Reading and an ESL endorsement.  Several years ago I contemplated returning to college to acquire a degree in Educational Administration, but decided to stay in the classroom.  I can honestly say after all my years of teaching, "I still love what I do!"

I'm excited for my next group of third graders.  We are going to have an amazing year.

On a personal note, my husband and I have been married for many years.  We have raised four wonderful and successful children....two boys and two girls.  I am excited to say that all four of our children have graduated from college.  We also have six amazing grandchildren....three grandsons and three granddaughters.

My students will hear lots of stories of our youngest two children and their travels and adventures. They both teach abroad and travel the world. We will follow their travels around the world and incorporate it into our Social Studies (geography, cultures, and communities).

For my time away from school, my husband and I love to travel. I also love to read. One of my favorite genres is Young Adult Fiction.
