Stipends
Teachers
who have completed coursework for the full ESL or Bilingual endorsement will
earn a one-time stipend of $1,200 if:
1. all coursework is completed prior to September 1 and
2. the full endorsement (not provisional) is printed on the Arizona Department
prior to December 1.
Teachers who have received the $1,200 stipend will continue to earn an annual stipend of $800.
Teachers cannot receive both the one-time $1,200 stipend and the $800 stipend in the same school year. Human Resources will complete the paperwork for payment to begin. The stipend will be dispersed in regular paychecks throughout the school year.
Tuition reimbursement and salary credit are available for the entire 27 credits needed for the ESL endorsement. Required course credits can be counted beyond the master's degree even if these courses are not part of the approved course of study for the master's degree being pursued.
To receive salary credit for coursework, Personnel Action Request Forms (PARFs) must be submitted to Human Resources before the beginning of any class. For tuition reimbursement, the PARF must reach Human Resources within one week of the first class session.
