Biography

Welcome! I am very pleased to be working with the students at East Valley Academy this year as the OnTrack tutor.  In this role, I am supporting students with academic and personal challenges.  OnTrack services focus on tutoring, but include work readiness and service learning.

Having worked for Mesa Public Schools for over thirty years, I have had the opportunity to teach almost every grade level - third grade through juniors in high school.  After receiving a BA in Elementary Education and a MA in Educational Technology at Arizona State University, I began working with Staff Development and Planning and Special Projects at MPS. Although I thoroughly enjoyed working with adults, I eagerly entered the classroom at Lehi followed by Irving, Brimhall, Kino, and finally EVA.  I have worked  with children in Migrant Education for several wonderful summers.  My favorite grade?  Whatever grade I am currently teaching!

In my free time, I enjoy a wide variety of activities including traveling, cooking, volunteering, "artsy things" and taking classes on subjects new to me.  However, my favorite activity is spending time with my grandchildren and family.

I am available from 7:30 am - 12:00, Monday through Thursday, in Room 132.
