My name is Lionel Daniel and believe it or not, I am a third generation native Arizonan. I was born in Yuma Arizona and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Fourth Avenue Jr High School and Yuma High School. We were known as the "Yuma High Criminals" and if you email me I will fill you in on how we received our infamous name. I attended Arizona Western College, Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University "go Sun devils", and the University of Phoenix. I received my Bachelors Degree from ASU and Masters from U of P. I knew that when I first started my teaching career I wanted to work for the Mesa Unified School District because I believed that this was by far the best school district in Arizona, and truly believe this today. I started my first year teaching P.E. and coaching track at Taylor Junior High School. I was then hired by Mr. Gail Guinn to work with "at risk" students at Mesa Vista School currently Riverview and the rest is history. I have been teaching in the Mesa School District for 28 years and have taught a number of classes, all of which I am "highly qualified" for such as Social Studies, Science,Language Arts, Physical Education and Art Education. I currently have the the pleasure of working for Mr. Tim Keilty at East Valley Academy overseeing the "Pearson" Grad Point Computer Based learning program. My computer lab is also linked to the Mesa Distance Learning Program. In the lab students are assigned elective or core courses, and can acquire credit in a fast amount of time depending on the pace of the individual and the determination to earn credit quickly. I am currently a member of our Social Committee, Campus Intervention group, Attendance Liaison, Sundown Recovery Program, Administrative Detention Program, and Employee Involvement Committee. .
