This is my seventh year teaching algebra 1 and geometry at East Valley Academy (EVA). I have taught mathematics in the Mesa Public Schools district for 14 years, teaching at Powell Junior High School, Dobson High School, and now at EVA .

My teaching career began in Florida where I taught algebra and physical science at Deltona Middle School and New Smyrna Beach Middle School, both in Volusia County Schools, DeLand, Florida.  I also taught for seven years as an adjunct teacher for the Adult High School at Daytona State College, where I taught evening GED classes in mathematics, science, social studies and English.

I graduated from Excelsior College (formerly The University of the State of New York) at Albany, New York with a degree in Liberal Studies and am designated as a "highly-qualified" teacher in secondary mathematics. I've also completed coursework leading to an ESL endorsement indicating proficiency in teaching English as a Second Language to students who are limited in English proficiency.

My career is diverse and includes a broad range of experience working in corporate America as well as in education.  I've been a business owner, worked in petroleum land management, real estate appraisal, educational consulting, and corporate recruiting and training.  I'm very pleased to now be a member of the East Valley Academy team!
