Biography

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year!  My name is Sharon Slover and I am honored to be the Social and Emotional Learning Teacher/Interventionist of East Valley Academy. I also have the opportunity of serving as a front-line support.  Before coming to Mesa, I spent 31 years in Illinois serving in various roles including classroom teacher, transition facilitator, executive director and state liaison.  I am very excited to be able to work directly with students, families and educators.

My belief is that all students can learn, but each learns in a different way and at different rates. I am committed to developing innovative strategies for ensuring that the students attending East Valley Academy and Crossroads are not left behind.  I have high expectations for our students, in both academic and social-emotional growth.  I maintain high expectations for myself using problem-solving strategies to continue to work with students to ensure positive outcomes that lead to preparing students for the 21st century world and reaching their post-school goals. Together we can develop a plan that works best for each student and their family.

When I am not at school, I can be found at the river photographing the wild horses or other wildlife.

Please know I am only a phone call away.
