I was born and raised in Michigan by parents, Jim and Joyce, who are my role models and heroes to this day. I am the third of six children. Despite our diverse personalities and the uniquely varied roads life has taken each of us, we are still close. We were raised to see the best in others and help each other to make things better. This is what I try to teach my students. Although each is uniquely different; together they can help each other to learn, change, and grow.
My major joy in life comes from being a wife, mother, and a student. My husband, Mark and I have five children together. Nichole who is 30, has a Master’s degree in Accounting from Wake Forest University, and is working in the financial industry in New York. David Jr. is 29 and graduated from Berkeley University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. He is proudly serving our country in the U.S. Army. Madison is 27 and graduated from A.S.U. with dual degrees in Mathematics and Physics and a Masters degree from U.C. Santa Barbara. Colton is 24 and living in Mesa and attending Mesa Community College. Last but not least is Conrad. He is 19 and attending Mesa Community College where he is taking classes to become a Firefighter.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and completed my Teacher Certification through Ottawa University. In addition, I have completed my ESL, Early Childhood, and Reading endorsements. My next goal will be to complete my Master's degree and obtain my endorsement in Math.
Although I enjoy my university studies, my best education comes from your children. I have heard people say that I teach so that I may learn and I learn so that I may teach. For me it is more than that, I teach to help your children experience the joy in learning so that they will make learning a joyful life long experience.
There is a verse from a song and a scripture that states, “For everything there is a season.” I believe this is true and I am looking forward to working with you to make this year a wonderful season for your child.
