I was born and raised in Michigan by parents, Jim and Joyce, who are my role models and heroes to this day. I am the third of six children. Despite our diverse personalities and the uniquely varied roads life has taken each of us, we are still close. We were raised to see the best in others and help each other to make things better. This is what I try to teach my students. Although each is uniquely different; together they can help each other to learn, change, and grow.
My major joy in life comes from being a wife, mother, student and teacher. My husband, Mark and I have five children together. Nichole who is 33, has a Master’s degree in Accounting from Wake Forest University, and is working in the financial industry in New York. We are so excited to be preparing for her wedding next June. David Jr. is 32 and graduated from Berkeley University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. After proudly serving our country in the U.S. Army and he just completed his Master's degree in Education. He will be teaching High School English in California. Yeah, another teacher in the family. Madison is 31and graduated from A.S.U. with dual degrees in Mathematics and Physics and a Masters degree from U.C. Santa Barbara. He is living in Paris France with our very first grandchild, Leandre. Colton is 28, living in Mesa, and attending ASU. Last but not least is Conrad. He is 22 and living in Idaho Falls, enjoying his dream job, as a Firefighter.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and completed my Teacher Certification through Ottawa University. In addition, I have completed my ESL, Early Childhood, and Reading endorsements.
Although I enjoy my university studies, my best education comes from your children. I have heard people say that I teach so that I may learn and I learn so that I may teach. For me it is more than that, I teach to help your children experience the joy in learning so that they will make learning a joyful life long experience.
There is a verse from a song and a scripture that states, “For everything there is a season.” I believe this is true and I am looking forward to working with you to make this year a wonderful season for your child.
