Media Center Policies

Hours:

The Media Center is open at 8:00 AM each morning for students to exchange books, finish homework, or take Field Amazing Reader quizzes. In addition, all students may come during the school day with a pass from their teachers and 4th-6th graders are welcome during their lunch recess. The Media Center closes at 3:30 each day (2:30 on Wednesdays). We welcome parents and families at any time and encourage you to use the Media Center as your neighborhood library.

Book Checkout:

Students in grades K-1 will check-out one book per week (Kindergarteners keep their books at school in their classroom library). Students in grades 2-6 may check-out two to three books depending on their classroom assignments. Children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade may keep their books for one week. 4th-6th graders may keep them for two weeks. Parents may have up to five books at a time and can keep them for two weeks. Please check with your child's teacher for the day their books are due (usually on the day they have Media Center class).

Responsibility:

All students are instructed in the proper care of books and materials. No fines are assessed for late books, but if a book is lost (more than 4 weeks overdue) or damaged it must be paid for.
