Discipline Plan for C-1

Mrs. Kupfer Kindergarten Classroom

 Our Classroom Rules are:Nathan

·       Do your best

·       Be kind

·       Raise you hand

·       Hands and feet to yourself

Positive Reinforcement:

-Happy comments and praise are vital in a class full of young students.  Lucky Bucks are randomly rewarded for good  choices, helpful actions and responsible behavior.  When a student collects five Lucky Bucks they may choose to buy something from the basket on Fridays.  Cheering for one another is something that keeps us united and builds a positive learning comminuty.

This happens when rules are broken:

1-          Verbal warning from the teacher

2-          Card turn to blue & miss 5 minutes of recess

3-          Card turn to yellow & miss another 5 minutes of recess

4-          Card turn to  red & miss 5 more minutes of recess & a  parent will be called or notified in writing

-Disruptive behavior such as walking around the classroom, singing, talking or noise making during quiet working time will result in a warning and a card turn.

-Failure to follow directions with classroom procedures such as lining up, raising hand, moving to learning area quietly etc. will receive a warning before a card is turned.

-Unkind behavior such as hitting, pushing, mean words or faces will receive a warning and a teaching moment before cards are turned.  That usually solves the problem.

-If behavior is so extreme that it does not allow learning to happen for the other children in the classroom, the child will be removed from the classroom and placed in a buddy classroom until he/she can enter and participate calmly.

I have and will continue to teach proper classroom behavior.  Most children respond to warnings, explanations and expectations.  Some children require more help to learn proper behavior.  I am a very patient woman!
