Biography

This year is my 26th year of teaching for Mesa Public Schools.  I started my career at Holmes Elem. teaching 4th grade.  I then moved to Porter Elem. where I taught 3rd grade.  I was at Fremont Jr. for the past 11 years, teaching 8th grade science and Honors science.  This will be my first year teaching the Gifted and Talented program for Field, Edison and Hale Elementary schools.

My husband is also a Gifted and Talented teacher for Mesa Public Schools.  We have three children.  Our eldest child is a sophmore at NAU, our middle child is a freshman at MCC and our youngest child is a sophmore in high school.  Education is highly valued in our family.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from ASU and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from NAU.  I have 15 credit hours from NAU and Ottawa University in Gifted education and have my Gifted endorsement. I also have and endorsement in reading and English as a second language.

This year I spent my summer in professional development trainings focusing on the new Common Core curriculum and higher level thinking practices. I am excited to have the privilege and opportunity to teach gifted and talented children.

My greatest passions in life are children, animals and the environment.  I feel all should be protected and loved!                   earth heart
