Why we are upgrading and replacing OBARS

MPS has been using OBARS since 1992 and in 1999 the district became self-supporting of the system. Currently we are the only entity in the US running the OBARS program. This not only causes limitations in support of the product, it is no longer being upgraded or maintained by the software developers. Throughout the past two years, the district has significantly upgraded the network infrastructure and we are on the leading edge of technology for school districts.  Upgrading our financial software system allows the district to run more current technology with increased functionality for Accounting, Accounts Payable, Employee Benefits, Federal and State Grants, Human Resources and Purchasing.
