No Charge Policy
Mesa Public School’s food service professionals are passionate about ensuring students have access to healthy school meals to support academic achievement. Our intentions are to feed all students every day, however, in the event a student has no money for breakfast or lunch the following policy is in place.
The Food and Nutrition Department has a NO CHARGE policy for students without money for breakfast or lunch. In lieu of charging, students will receive a courtesy breakfast and/or lunch for up to three days. A courtesy meal is any option offered that day.
After three days, if a student does not have money, a snack will be provided. The cafeteria manager will communicate directly with parents to notify them that their child’s account is out of money.
All students qualifying for reduced-priced meals receive breakfast at no cost at all schools offering breakfast.
