Registration Forms: Any students who have received a yellow registration form, Please bring to front office. It must have your parents signatures.
Veterans Day: Veterans Day in the United States. In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day.
Veteran’s Day Assembly: Attention Fremont Staff and Students. Today, during both lunches, Fremont Junior High School will be sponsoring two Veteran’s Day assemblies- one during each lunch. During each of these ceremonies, the Fremont orchestra, band and choirs will be performing, the Red Mountain High School JROTC color guard will be posting colors, and we will be presenting each veteran with a personalized certificate of appreciation.
During lunch today, please eat your lunch and head over to the outdoor amphitheater to watch the ceremonies. Please remember to act responsibly during the ceremonies and show the veterans the respect that they deserve.
Food Drive: Your Fremont Student Council is sponsoring a food drive in partnership with the United Food Bank of Arizona for needy families right here in Maricopa County! To motivate your donations, this food drive will be a contest between the 4th hour classes. The 4th period class with the most NON-PERISHABLE foods donated will earn a pizza party! There will be a November winner AND a December winner! So start bringing in your NON-PERISHABLE foods (canned goods, pastas, rice, cereal, peanut butter, etc.) to your 4th hour class & let's do some good!
Sports: Good Luck to our Falcon Athletes today! The 7th grade Boys Baseball will be traveling to Carson. The 8th Grade Boys Baseball and 8th Grade Girls Softball will be at home against Kino and the Boys Volleyball team will be at home against Stapley. All games start at 4:45 p.m. Come support our Falcons!
Service Builders Club: Students: Fremont Service Builders Club and Student Council are still in need of bags of candy (preferably candy that will not melt) prior to Nov. 9th. Suggested items include smarties, bubble gum, dum-dums, and tootsie rolls.
If you can donate candy to help that would be great. Please drop candy off in room 96 or 52. Thanks for your help in making the parade enjoyable for participants.
Attention Service Builders Club members! Due to the amount of presents that still need to be wrapped and put together we are having another present wrapping meeting for Operation Christmas Child after school today, Thursday in room 53. If you are in Ms. Sutton or Ms. Geair's classes and you need a service project this meeting counts, but anyone who wants to help is more than welcome to attend!
Harkins Fundraiser: Harkins Fundraiser going on through November 17th. Fremont Junior High PTO is selling Harkins Movie Theater Loyalty products and gift cards as a fundraiser. These make great holiday gifts while supporting our school.
Native American of the Day: John Bennett Herrington was born September 14, 1958 in Chickasaw Nation. Herrington is a retired United States Naval Aviator and former NASA astronaut. In 2002, Herrington became the first enrolled member of a Native American tribe to fly in space. He earned a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs before receiving his commission in the United States Navy in 1984. To honor his Chickasaw heritage, Herrington carried its flag on his 13-day trip to space. The flag had been presented to him by Chickasaw Nation Governor, Bill Anoatubby.

College Spotlight: Boston University
Boston University known as “BU” is a private institution founded in 1839. It has over 33,000 students and 10,000 faculty and staff. BU has 250 fields of study and 500 student clubs, ranking 8th of the “Best Student Cities”.
BU has a graduate school of arts and sciences and is famous for its art program and community events. Their department of mathematics is highly active in program statistics.
Boston University is one of 3 places where a plane can fly over a car driving over a train traveling over a boat.
Some of BU famous Alumni are: Actors Amy Poehler, Leonard Nimoy and Chris O’Donnell, Football players Matt Ryan, Tim & Matt Hasselbeck and John Kerry, Politician.
