Ms. Jillian Lowe
I am excited to begin my thirteenth year at Fremont. Prior to coming to Fremont, I taught sixth grade as well as kindergarten at Franklin East Elementary. I also spent six years teaching fourth and fifth grade for the Tempe Elementary School District.
I am a native Arizonan! My great-grandmother was a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse when Arizona was still a territory!!! My two boys, husband, and two yorkie-poos keep me very busy. When I do have some spare time, I love to read (especially about history), go to the gym, attend sporting events, and watch movies.
I received my B.A.E. from ASU and my M.A.E. from NAU. I have a K-12 Reading Endorsement as well as a K-3 Early Childhood Endorsement. I have completed my SEI Endorsement and am highly qualified to teach 7th/8th grade Social Studies.
During the 2018-19 school year, I am so excited to teach two sections of 7th grade Social Studies. Students will be learning about geography as well as major events relating to U.S history including: Westward Expansion, Civil War, Reconstruction, Industrial Revolution, and World War I. Students will also read and discuss articles relating to current events.
I will also be teaching four sections of 8th grade Social Studies. Students will be learning about major events of American History including: The Revolutionary War, Constitutional Convention, World War II, and the Civil Rights Movement. Students will also be reading and discussing material relating to current events.
A binder will be provided for each of my students(which will remain in the classroom) for all Social Studies materials.
Students are required to have a YELLOW pocket folder (for transporting homework) designated for Social Studies.
Tutoring hours will be posted every MONDAY on a bright ORANGE poster.
