My name is Laure Jones and am new to Fremont this year transferring from Dobson High School. I am a 2-time graduate of Northern Arizona University and am an Arizona native, born and raised in Yuma. My husband is a football coach at Mesa Community College - Go Thunderbirds! - and we have 3 children, ages 6 - 17, that keep us VERY busy!
I have been blessed to have served over 20 years in the field of education. I began my career in education as an elementary school teacher in Yuma, AZ and have taught at every level from kindergarten through college in various schools in Arizona and New Mexico. I have served as an academic advisor/counselor on and off since 1999. Before returning to school counseling in 2013, I served as Psychology faculty at Eastern Arizona College. I also coached cheer/spirit line for 13 years at both the college/university and high school levels. At the high school level, my squads won 2 back-to-back AIA championships in the 2A division. *\0/*
In my 20+ years as an educator, I have been able to expand my professional knowledge and personal experiences to better serve my students. I am an AVID trained counselor, bilingual in English & Spanish, and I also facilitate professional development courses online for counselors in partnerships with AZCAN (Arizona College Access Network). I truly hold to the philosophy of being a "life-long learner" and am continually looking for opportunities to learn and grow on a personal and professional level.
I am here to serve...please feel free to contact me via email with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to working with you!
