I have been a teacher since 1994. I started teaching as a substitute teacher in Mesa. I was a Librarian on the Gila River Indian Reservation. I began my special education teaching in the Glendale Elementary School district at Landmark Junior High. I was the resource math teacher at that school. I was with Glendale for 5 years. I joined the Lowell family in July 2007, where I have been for the last 8 years. I am back at the Junior High level and hope to work with the Elementary teachers to create a smoother transition for students going from Elementary into Junior High school. This year I am teaching 7th grade ELA and Power builder classes. I will also be working in an inclusion setting in a 7th grade ELA regular education classroom to support all students.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History from Arizona State University. I have 3 master's degrees from Grand Canyon University. I have a Master's in Education Adminstration and a Master's degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disablities. My third degree a TESOL masters.
I have had the opportunity to practice my TESOL masters in China. I had the opportunity to teach Chinese English teachers American English language and culture. I look forward to returning there someday soon.
I have one four legged daughter and a two legged daughter. My daughter attends ASU were she will be graduating in May and will look forward to her becoming a school psychologist. In my personal time I enjoy cooking for my family, reading, technology and spending time with my granddaughter Zoey.
