Hello, my name is Mr. Haque. This will be my tenth year in the profession of teaching. I have taught primarily 7th, 8th, and 9th grades so far. I have a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Secondary Education (History) and a master’s degree from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership (Higher Education).

When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy food, traveling, hiking, biking, and fishing. I have been to various countries and states and when I do get the chance to travel I enjoy getting to know the locals and find out where they eat and the activities that locals enjoy. I believe the world would be a better place if everyone took the opportunity to learn about cultural differences. At the end of the day everyone is after the same thing, a better life.

This year eighth grade social studies will focus on Citizenship, Economics, Government, Globalization, and all aspects contained within these subjects. This class is fast paced with a degree of independent study and requires good self-motivation from each student. Grades will be updated online every one to two weeks where you will be able to monitor progress. I also stay in contact with parents/guardian via email throughout the year.

During the course of the year we will cover many important historical topics, the people involved, their roles and the impacts of the many events on the environment, cultures, and present day situations. Students will also be completing current events. I often tell my students that history does repeat and that where the world is today is directly related to what we have learned from the past. Throughout the year I will draw on many important ideas or events of the past that still influence how we think and act today. It is an honor to teach our future generations, thank you for reading!
