DonorsChoose
Ongoing Deadline
http://www.donorschoose.org/
As a public school teacher you can post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. Requests can be made for a variety of projects, supplies, technology, just about anything. The application process is very simple and teachers, from all grade levels are encouraged to explore and submit. Wells Fargo, Horace Mann, and American Express are just a few of the companies that typically fund projects through this website instead of having their own grant program.
Over 45 Mesa teachers have posted on the site. Once the project posts, then people from all over the world can read about your project and decide whether they want to donate. Small and large donations, alike are given. Keep in mind - in a way you need to "sell" your project or request. The information you put in your description is all an individual or company has to decide whether they want to donate to your particular project. Projects that meet specific needs tend to get more attention. Projects that pull at the "heart strings" also tend to get attention.
