Mesa Public Schools adheres to the philosophy that student services are an essential and integral part of the overall educational process.  Student Support Services-Guidance and Counseling Department incorporates several different programs and departments which all work together to support academic achievement.

The Guidance and Counseling Department includes Prevention Programs, the Native American Education Program (NAEP), Mesa Career Services, Elementary School Counseling, Secondary School Counseling, Diversity Programs, Homebound, and Dropout Prevention.  We also work with other departments on career readiness initiatives and non-emergency school crisis response and emergency management

The Guidance and Counseling program serves to align with American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Standards, and ensure Education & Careeer Action Plan (ECAP) implementation:
ASCA National Standards for Students.
