My name is Amanda Armstrong and I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade at Hale this school year! I joined the Hale family three years ago and have spent the last few years teaching 5th grade but am so excited to return to teaching the primary grades where I began my career. Hale is the best school in the world and I love being a Hero! I was born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon which is a suburb of Portland. I attended Portland State University and earned my Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education in June of 2012. Later, I attended Concordia University-Portland and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching in November 2014. In May of 2016, I relocated to the Phoenix area because I love sunny weather and was lucky enough to have my parents relocate nearby to Chandler. I've taught preschool, second grade, fifth grade, and sixth/ seventh grade math in my career. Teaching is truly my passion and purpose in life. I feel so grateful everyday to be able to have my dream job! I'm excited to work with you and your child this school year.
When I am not teaching, I love to participate in hobbies. This summer, I was able to purchase my first home in Gilbert where I live with my corgi/ shepherd mix puppy Autzen. We have REALLY enjoyed becoming homeowners and it's really fun working on home projects. I enjoy fitness through running and spending time in the gym. Spending time outdoors when possible is what makes the Phoenix area great! Crafting with my Cricut making t-shirts, cups, and classroom items is also relaxing to me. I love to spend time with my family, my furbaby, and friends too! Lastly, I love to read in my spare time.
