Biography

I am excited for the coming year and look forward to joining the marvelous team at Hale Elementary. It is always great to see students reach new heights in education and I am ready to embark on this fun adventure. Let's have a wonderful learning experience together!

I am an Arizona native--attended schools in Safford and graduated from ASU with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. During my 45 years teaching in Arizona, I had the pleasure to teach at Hale, Lehi, Madison and Keller Elementary schools. My 17 years at Rhodes Jr. High were very rewarding. I then worked in a Math Training position, writing curriculum and helping teachers make math more fun. It was also extremely enjoyable to work in the Mesa District as an Educational Technology Specialist, where I helped teachers and students utilize technology in the classroom. (I really look forward to using technological tools in our classroom!) I also loved working at the space and flight centers, planning activities and teaching students about aviation,  space, and technology.

One of my favorite things is being a grandpa and spending time with my wonderful family. My wife and I have been married for 50 years and love traveling together to fun and exciting places across the U.S. and Europe.  I really enjoy scouting. I am an Eagle Scout and have served in Scouting for 40 years. A few of my other hobbies are music, carpentry, computers, and aviation. I sometimes dabble in magic and have been known to make things appear and disappear!
