All about me…

Hello! My name is Karen Lepire and I am very excited to be teaching third grade for the 2016-2017 school year here at Hale Elementary. Teaching is my passion and I am looking forward to teaching your child as well as learning from them.

I am originally from Carson City, Nevada where I was born and raised. I moved to AZ in 1994; I attended Arizona State University and eventually graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a minor in English as a Second Language Endorsement. I have taught in different capacities such as in Scottsdale AZ; third and sixth grade, Reno, NV; 4-6th grade Reading Interventionist, and now Mesa, AZ; 3-6th grade ELL, and a 2/3 ELL combo, which I enjoyed teaching all of them because of the students! I also enjoy traveling, working out, and spending time with my family and friends, especially time with my dog!

My philosophy on education is that every child has the potential to learn, it just takes a person to see that potential and act on it. I have high, achievable expectations and goals, both academically and personally for all my students. With these high expectations in place and the efforts put forth by the students, I can expect a successful and productive year. I am constantly trying and using new and different methods to teach my students to ensure that learning is achieved.

It is your responsibility to check their backpacks daily, reinforce appropriate behavior when around other students and teachers, read each night and do homework on time to enhance their learning and attend school-related events as needed. When we work together, we are a team and as a team we can achieve more!  I really do enjoy learning as I hope every child who enters my classroom does as well.

If you have any questions or comments please email:; call me at 480-472-7423 or come stop by room 23.

Always know that my door is open to everyone!
