My name is Marie Waddoups. The kids call me Ms. W. I am the K-3 special education teacher at Hale Elementary. I have taught special education at Hale Elementary for three years now. During these three years, I have taught a wide variety of age groups. I have taught kindergarten-3rd grade special education and 3rd-6th grade special education. Before this, I worked at Hale for an additional few years as a teacher's aid while attending Northern Arizona University (NAU) campus here in Mesa. I received a Bachelors Degree in Special and Elementary Education from NAU.
As a special education teacher, I work hard to help students believe in themselves, try their best, and love learning. One of my favorite quotes is, "Every child can learn, just not on the same day in the same way." I work hard to help each child reach their full potential using their individual strengths and needs.
When I am not busy teaching, I enjoy traveling, watching movies with a big bowl of popcorn, and spending time with my family, friends, and dog. Some of the places I have traveled include: England, Austria, and Hawaii. I have also visited nearly every state in the U.S. having lived at least a year in: Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, and Arizona. Arizona has been my favorite state so far, because it is warm year around. This summer I plan to visit one of the few states I've surprisingly never been to- Texas. I am so excited to get to know your child better and look forward to helping them best succeed.
